For those local residents who are looking to get a little closer to nature as well as to ensure that tourists have a pleasant time in the area the City of Kitimat operates two campgrounds.

RADLEY PARK :

A campers meca in the heart of great fishing country, it is located next to the Kitimat River. Housing 48 developed sites some with electricty, a park office, hot showers and washrooms, covered area for day picnicking which is capable of hosting larger gatherings and a playground.
The city has embarked on with support from City Council on a 5 year improvement plan to the park which will focus on enhancing the users stay and comfort.

HIRSCH CREEK PARK :

Located on the outskirts of the city beside Hirsch Creek, the park offers a few select campsites, a large covered area for picnicking and a ball/soccer field for extended activity for larger groups. The park is designated as a wilderness/natural setting campground. Minimal disruption of the forest and no development of the park will take place to ensure the natural state of vegetation, trees and grass lands in the park.
