PLAYGROUNDS: |

The City of Kitimat has been on a program with assistance from various community based committees for the past 9 years of replacing old out-of-date parks with new modern structures. Currently the city boasts 11 modern play structures. [More Information]

SPORTSFIELDS: |
|||
The city operates 6 ball diamonds (3 at Riverlodge and 3 at Nechako School) and one soccer field located at Riverlodge. A further 4 soccer fields are maintained at the Bill Rich Soccer Fields by the Minor Soccer Assocation. |

TENNIS COURTS: |
|||
Located at Riverlodge Recreation Centre and Nechako Centre there are a total of 4 courts. |

SKATEBOARDING: |
|||
Kitimat’s Skate Boarding Park, partially designed and built by youth in the community is located at Nechako Center, beside Nechako Elementary School. The skateboard park is ideal for beginners through to the seasoned boarder. The Skate Park is open year round weather permitting and is great way to be active, outdoors. |

RIFLE RANGE: |

Locally operated by a volunteer organization with assistance from the city the facility is capable of hosting rifle and bow shooters. |

HIKING TRAILS AND COMMUNITY PATHWAYS: |

Being so close to nature it is a natural that we would have many scenic and beautiful hiking, biking trails and pathways for all to choose from. SITKA SPRUCE: |
|||
Take a leisurely walk to the site of one of BC's largest Sitka spruce; some people consider it one of the oldest in the world at over 400 years old. Find it just west of the Riverlodge Recreation Centre towards the Kitimat River. |

FISHING: |
|||
| Kitimat is located along the banks of the Kitimat River which is filled with an abundance of salmon all year round. Many access points are available along the river as well at Radley Park and the Fish Hatchery which hosts Handicapped Accessible Fishing spot. | |||
